ADCB TouchPoints and FAB Rewards are different reward currencies with different earning and redemption rules. Compare their actual AED redemption value and distinguish standard FAB Rewards from Al-Futtaim FAB Rewards and Blue-app benefits.
Compare what your points can buy today before deciding which card to use. The earning rate is only half the equation; the other half is a redemption you can use without extra spending.
Published conversions and estimated values

The airline ratios are not cash guarantees. Check the current minimum conversion, account eligibility and processing terms. A flight award must be available and usable for the assumed travel value to be realised.
What 100,000 points can mean
At the published bill-payment ratio, 100,000 TouchPoints correspond to AED 400. At the assumed Skywards value, the same TouchPoints produce a theoretical AED 250 through the 22-to-1 transfer, before any minimum or rounding rules.
For 100,000 FAB Rewards, the theoretical travel value is AED 343.75 via Skywards or approximately AED 416.67 via Etihad at our assumptions. Those numbers do not establish the bank’s cash-redemption value, and a partial balance may need rounding to a permitted transfer size.
An advertised merchant redemption example can use a different rate. ADCB’s Infinite product page gives an approximate 200,000-point reward example worth AED 1,000; that does not replace the specific bill-payment ratio. Identify the redemption channel before borrowing a valuation from a marketing example.
Earning categories can outweigh redemption differences
Suppose two hypothetical cards earn 1.5 and 3 points per AED respectively. At AED 0.004 per point, they return 0.6% and 1.2% before fees. A programme whose point is worth less can still earn more value if it awards sufficiently more points.
| General retail example A | 1.5 | 15,000 | 0.004 | 60 |
| General retail example B | 3 | 30,000 | 0.004 | 120 |
| Reduced-category example | 0.2 | 2,000 | 0.004 | 8 |
These are mathematical examples rather than a promise about every card. Review the product’s category schedule, exclusions and caps. Utility bill payments used to earn points may also be treated differently from utility bills paid by redeeming points.
Cash, vouchers and travel: inspect the quote
For a cash credit, divide the AED credit by points surrendered. For a voucher, ask whether you would buy from that merchant anyway and whether the voucher has restrictions. For a travel portal, compare the actual booking price with an equivalent cash booking available elsewhere.
A portal booking listed at AED 1,200 may not save AED 1,200 if you can buy the same trip for AED 1,000. Use the lower realistic alternative after matching baggage, refund terms and other relevant features.
A sensible redemption routine
Check three live options for the same balance: a straightforward bill or cash redemption, a merchant option you would use, and a flight transfer linked to an available award. Save the quote date and identify any expiry or charges. Choose the outcome you can actually realise.
Old banners can remain on programme pages. A bonus with an expired end date belongs in the archive, not your forecast. Read the general rewards valuation guide for the effective-rate formula and compare cards with your own spending in the matcher.
Frequently asked questions
Are TouchPoints worth AED 0.0033 each?
That is not the current published bill-payment conversion reviewed here. ADCB’s update gives 2,500 TouchPoints for AED 10, or AED 0.004 each. Other redemption routes can differ.
Should I always convert TouchPoints to airline miles?
No. At an assumed Skywards value of AED 0.055 and 22 TouchPoints per mile, the look-through value is AED 0.0025 per TouchPoint, below the reviewed bill-payment value. A different usable award can change that result.
Is Blue Rewards the same as FAB Rewards?
No. Do not apply FAB Rewards airline ratios or AED valuations to Al-Futtaim Blue Rewards without the exact programme’s published terms.
How do I price a voucher?
Divide the amount you would actually use by the points needed, after charges. Reduce the value if restrictions or a forced merchant choice mean you would not otherwise spend the full voucher amount.
