What first-year value means
Regular welcome reward + qualifying incremental promotional booster + estimated annual spending rewards + first-year fee rebate + qualifying joining-fee refund − annual fee − joining and required plan fees. Headline results are rounded to the nearest AED and floored at zero. If fees exceed rewards, the breakdown shows the negative modelled net.
Annual fees include VAT where stated by the bank. Where the advertised fee excludes tax or does not specify it, the dataset explains our 5% VAT modelling assumption. Unknown fees or rates appear as “Confirm with bank”, rather than an invented number.
Your personal shortlist and ongoing value
The personal selector starts with blank spending fields and an entered salary and repayment habit. It screens published salary and transfer criteria, excludes unknown annual fees and unmodelled reward products, and shows up to three positive-net-value choices. Unknown salary cards remain separate. No application or credit check is performed. Equivalent conventional and Islamic ADCB 365 variants use one shortlist place; the Islamic-only filter selects the Islamic product.
Ongoing annual value uses twelve earning months with the same eligible monthly spend, recurring plan fees and published renewal fees. It removes welcome awards, joining fees, acquisition delays and first-year-only rebates. Verified annual-spend renewal waivers are modelled using the preceding twelve months of eligible forecast spend. Other discretionary waivers are excluded. Emirates NBD Duo uses the generic AED 840 renewal tariff conservatively because its current no-fee offer is not established as permanent. Known bank and scheme FX charges are deducted; unverified components remain explicitly flagged. Negative values remain visible in breakdowns, rather than being treated as zero costs.
Ongoing net value is the default ranking; users can select first-year value. Rewards forecasts assume full and timely statement repayment, and exclude financing costs. Visitors expecting to carry a balance or unsure of repayment see cost-first guidance instead of a misleading reward recommendation. Eligibility, reward classification and new-customer terms require bank confirmation. Inputs stay in page memory; they are not submitted or saved to a server.
The spending benchmark
The default is AED 10,000 per month: AED 2,500 groceries, AED 1,500 school fees, AED 1,000 utilities, AED 1,500 dining, AED 1,000 fuel, AED 1,000 local online shopping, AED 500 international general retail and AED 1,000 other general retail. The home input scales those categories proportionally; the spending matcher lets you edit each independently.
Rewards are calculated for a representative month and multiplied by the modelled earning months in the first year. The calculation applies modelled category caps, overall monthly caps and spend thresholds. It assumes the same eligible spend each month. Actual posting dates, tuition paid once per term, refunds, classification and rounding can change returns.

Skywards, Etihad Guest and standard FAB Rewards values are editorial modelling assumptions. TouchPoints uses the verified bill-payment rate of AED 0.004, and Mashreq Vantage uses the verified cash rate of 380 points per AED 1. Al-Futtaim FAB Rewards and separate Blue-app rewards must not be treated as standard FAB points. ENBD Plus Points uses the bank’s published cash redemption rate of AED 0.75 per point, subject to redemption requirements.
Airline earning published against another currency is normalised into miles per AED using the issuer’s published conversion factor (ENBD Skywards uses 3.672; other models use 3.6725 where disclosed). We do not assume paid accelerator enrolment. Select reduced-earning categories are excluded conservatively when detailed eligibility cannot be established.
Welcome rewards are conditional
We include the regular welcome award and only qualifying incremental campaign stages. A seasonal headline that already includes regular activation miles is not added in full again. Undated standard welcome awards never enter the promotional-booster line. For a target over a certain number of days, spending is estimated pro rata using a 30-day month. New-customer, activation and bank-specific qualifying-purchase conditions still apply. Unconfirmed campaign maxima, direct-channel-only offers, action-dependent wallet / supplementary rewards and non-cash travel packages are excluded unless explicitly modelled. Campaign milestones are tested individually. Fee refunds cannot exceed the fee charged, even when more than one waiver applies. The welcome toggle removes bonuses while retaining eligible fee waivers.
The salary tracker uses Mashreq’s tiers published for first salary on or after 1 August 2026: base cashback AED 100, AED 350, AED 1,000 or AED 2,500, with additional early bird tiers subject to salary within 90 days of opening. Both joining and early-bird payments follow the dated 12-instalment update; older FAQ wording differs. Salary tier, once-per-lifetime and missed-credit reversal rules still apply.
Promotion deadlines use valid calendar dates in the Asia/Dubai timezone. Dated offers remain active through their stated final day and disappear from active-only results afterwards; malformed dates fail closed. Missing published deadlines are represented as null and labelled “No stated deadline”. The page refreshes date status on focus and every minute. Bank availability still requires a fresh source check.
Partial estimates
Mashreq Vantage now uses its published cash conversion of 380 points per AED 1. DIB Walaa still has no verified fixed AED conversion in this review; those points are disclosed and excluded from cash totals, with Walaa cards showing “Not estimated”. Partial estimates disclose omitted rewards and restricted redemptions. A zero valuation in the data means excluded from this model, not worthless points.
DIB Consumer grocery / school caps changed on 10 October 2026. The representative twelve-month forecast uses those lower caps conservatively. TouchPoints Infinite uses its published maximum general earn rate; European / selected merchant rates differ. Current product-specific no-fee claims that conflict with a generic tariff are identified in the card notes.
Eligibility is a preliminary screen
Salary-eligible results exclude products above the selected salary or with unknown verified salary requirements. Unknown-salary products remain discoverable in a separately labelled section and are never counted as eligible matches. It honours salary-transfer requirements. HSBC Premier filtering uses the general AED 40,000 salary-transfer route; the Premier relationship balance requirement and alternative routes are shown separately. Live+ uses HSBC’s general AED 12,500 threshold; approved-company employees may qualify at AED 5,000. Wio account filtering uses the general AED 15,000 Salary plan minimum, with AED 5,000 possible for partner-company employees. The unsecured Wio Credit KFS publishes a separate AED 7,000 salary minimum and employment criteria. Its model assumes Plus fees of AED 49/month; qualifying salary or balance waivers are not assumed. A deposit-backed route is documented separately and is not substituted for unsecured eligibility. Bank discretion, residency, age, employer approval and AECB assessment remain necessary.
Conventional and Islamic products
Islamic filters use an explicit Sharia-compliant product flag. Card borrowing charges are labelled “profit rate” for Islamic cards. ADIB’s Cashback product page describes Ijarah while its linked KFS describes commodity Murabaha financing. The applicable contract must be confirmed; we use a general Islamic covered-card description. A bank can use Murabaha, Ijarah or Tawarruq structures on different products; we do not infer the structure from its name alone.
How the Dirham Score works
The 0–5 editorial score uses rewards (30%), published annual, joining and required plan fees (25%), published perks (25%), monthly borrowing cost (10%) and clarity of published salary criteria (10%). Missing dimensions are omitted and remaining weights are rescaled; the data-coverage percentage is shown. This is not an approval probability, an external credit rating or a promise of suitability. Rewards use the benchmark before fees. Unvalued points remain unvalued; a score is not a cash valuation. Published borrowing rates are not personal quotations.
Official card images
Product artwork is copied from the issuer’s official website or its linked asset host. Each card’s expanded conditions link to the image source page. Display assets are resized, uncropped WebP copies below 50 KB. The image register preserves both original-bank and derived-file hashes. Artwork is used to identify the product; it does not imply bank endorsement. View the image source register.
Periodic cashback bonuses
HSBC Cash+ pays a separate 10% bonus on base cashback at each qualifying period: AED 5,000 monthly, AED 25,000 quarterly and AED 125,000 annually. These are bonuses on cashback, not 10% of spending. The model repeats your monthly spending across complete periods and never compounds one bonus on another.
First-month reward timing
FAB Cashback requires AED 3,000 spend in the preceding month. For a new card we model zero rewards in month one and eleven subsequent qualifying months. Other cards use twelve repeated benchmark months. This is a forecast, not a transaction-by-transaction statement calculation.
What the total excludes
Finance charges, FX charges, cash advances, late fees, optional programmes, rent, government payments, non-cash travel packages, cinema ticket savings, golf, valet, lounge visits and prize draws are excluded from card value. These are personal-use benefits or separate costs. The default estimate excludes FX fees. The optional detailed-spending model can deduct published bank and known scheme components. Unknown components are omitted and flagged, never assumed zero; approximate or upper-limit scheme figures remain qualified. EU, other EEA and UK transactions are separate, while Citi Premier restrictions depend on currency. Additional spending replaces an existing category allocation rather than being counted twice. Unverified added categories are excluded from rewards and qualifying-spend gates. ADIB telecom shares the Utilities cap; talabat models the first ten eligible orders separately.
Audit findings and limitations
The catalogue contains 48 card records across 13 banks, seven account offers and 48 official images. Product terms were researched on 18 October; the expanded catalogue and image optimisation were reviewed on 19 October 2026. Source conflicts, unpublished salary requirements, individual app entitlements and campaign terms missing from public documents remain explicitly limited. A blocked automated request is not proof that an offer has ended. Read the per-product evidence and unresolved items.
Availability and freshness
This is a source-reviewed snapshot reviewed on 18 October 2026. Each product links to its official page. The current catalogue extends that source snapshot with the new issuer research. Promotion expiry runs automatically in the browser. There is no automated bank offer or live-rate feed; the card records are a source-reviewed snapshot. Bank terms can change; verify the official offer immediately before applying. Standard Chartered Simply Cash is marked for existing customers and hidden from default results.
No authentication or application data is collected. Comparison selections and saved salary plans stay in local browser storage; directory filters are reflected in the URL.
